The Team

ASG client engagements are led by deeply experienced social sector strategy and communications practitioners.

The core ASG team is augmented by subject matter adjuncts. This structure allows for ASG to provide top-level counsel and project support for clients at a value. The firm is extremely nimble and able to scale client coverage based on real-time needs and provide seamless engagements.

Matthew Barnes principally leads our strategy and corporate responsibility engagements. Michael Inganamort leads communications and public policy-related efforts.

Matthew Barnes

Matthew leads strategic planning and oversees impact assessments for our client engagements. Well-versed in best practices around philanthropy and executive positioning, and a proven dot-connecter, Matthew's counsel is holistic and highly attuned to client needs. His comments and analysis on strategic philanthropy and executive positioning have appeared in the New York Times, Forbes, Campaign & Elections, Philanthropie Aktuel (Switzerland) and Radar. Matthew studied African-American Studies and Politics at Purdue University, and earned his masters in sustainable development at the University of Cambridge (UK), where his dissertation focused on the role of the extractive industry in driving social development in conflict contexts.

MIchael INGANAMORT

Michael leads the firm's issue advocacy and thought leadership engagements, drawing on his experience in and out of government in Washington, DC and New Jersey. He’s managed a statewide coalition of hospitals to defeat a proposed tax, coordinated messaging for a national foundation targeting family homelessness, and corralled private and public support on tough issues like human trafficking and the opioid epidemic. He makes sure that our clients' messages are consistently and deliberately reaching their target audiences. Mike has spent time on Capitol Hill, in the executive branch, and in local elected office. He graduated magna cum laude from American University and holds a masters from Georgetown.
